The West Bengal Chess Association (WBCA) is the official governing body for chess in the state of West Bengal, India. It is affiliated with the All India Chess Federation (AICF)Â
Objectives
The WBCA is responsible for promoting and organizing chess activities, tournaments, and events in West Bengal.
Tournaments and Events
The WBCA also selects and supports talented players to represent West Bengal in national and international chess competitions.
The West Bengal Chess Association (WBCA) collaborates with educational institutions, clubs, and chess academies to promote chess as an intellectual sport and to create a strong chess culture in the state. It organizes various chess events throughout the year, including state-level championships,
open tournaments, and rating tournaments.
The West Bengal Chess Association (WBCA) also works towards creating a platform for chess enthusiasts to interact, exchange ideas, and enhance their chess skills.
It promotes fair play, sportsmanship, and ethical conduct in chess, ensuring that the game is played in a competitive yet respectful environment.
